CIPR publishes parent support pack with PR-themed children’s activity pack

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has published a new resource aimed at supporting those caring for school-age children, with advice on how to talk to employers about challenging situations and advice for employers on how to best support their staff, particularly during the pandemic.

PR and Parenting in a Pandemic‘ is free for all to download and includes articles, advice, and even a PR-themed children’s activity pack with competitions and more. Articles include:

  • ‘How employers can support working parents during lockdown and beyond’ by Shalini Gupta
  • ‘How to talk to your manager about your circumstances’ by Nafisa Shafiq
  • ‘Top Tips for Managing Working Parents’ by Croner, CIPR’s HR partner

Children’s Activity Pack

The children’s activity pack includes activities such as a public relations word search, a spot the difference with a difference, and two competitions for children to enter:

  • Design a cover for our award-winning Influence Magazine and your picture could be on the front of the Q3 issue
  • Complete your own press release about your great new product and win one of five book vouchers

For those with the responsibility of looking after children at the same time as their everyday work, this pandemic has essentially meant working two jobs. Others have found themselves in similarly challenging situations when having to care for loved ones, being off work ill, or struggling with the effects of lockdown.

This pack acknowledges the hard work of our profession in the most difficult of times. It should provide some useful information for those in management positions and will hopefully raise a smile at the same time.

CIPR President, Mandy Pearse Chart PR, FCIPR
